2 GREAT LOCATIONS / 2 VERY DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES ASSISTED LIVING & MEMORY CARE SERVICES

Living Life to the Fullest

Two Great Locations, Two Different Specialties

At HelpingHands, we’ve designed our communities to serve different family needs. Our Villages at Willow in Fresno offers modern assisted living in a brand-new facility, while Elim Place in Sanger provides specialized memory care—one of only two fully designated memory care communities in Greater Fresno

“The best part about HelpingHands is seeing Mom enjoy life again,” shares Rebecca. “I’m no longer worried about her medications or daily care—instead, we spend our visits looking at family photos, enjoying the garden, or joining activities together.”

What We Provide Daily:

“What impressed us most was how the staff anticipated Mom’s needs before we even mentioned them,” explains Patricia. “Their proactive approach gives us complete peace of mind.”

Beyond these essential services, what truly sets our communities apart is our deep understanding of each resident’s unique story. Our team takes pride in learning about their past experiences, preferences, and cherished memories, incorporating these personal details into daily care and activities.

Questions Families Ask Us

We know choosing senior care brings up a lot of concerns. Here are the questions we hear most often:

Trust your instincts. If you’re constantly worried about safety, if your loved one is isolated or struggling with daily tasks, or if caregiving is affecting your own health, it’s time to explore options. Many families tell us they wish they’d made the move sooner. “I was trying to handle everything myself and burning out,” shares David. “Once Dad moved to HelpingHands, I could be his son again instead of his caregiver.”

This is completely normal. Our admissions team has guided hundreds of families through this transition. We involve your loved one in touring and decision-making when possible, and our staff is specially trained in helping new residents adjust. Most resistance fades once they see they’re gaining independence, not losing it.

We have 24/7 nursing staff trained in emergency response. We partner with local hospitals and maintain detailed medical histories for every resident. Your loved one will never be alone during a health crisis, and you’ll be contacted immediately.

For urgent situations, we can often accommodate move-ins within 48-72 hours. For planned transitions, we recommend 1-2 weeks to ensure everything is prepared perfectly. We handle insurance coordination, medical records transfer, and even help coordinate the physical move.

Our monthly fees include room, meals, housekeeping, laundry, activities, basic personal care, and medication management. Additional costs might include private hairdressing, special dietary needs, or one-on-one companion services. We’re completely transparent about pricing from your first visit.

The first month is always an adjustment period, and we work extra closely with new residents and families during this time. However, most families find that initial concerns resolve quickly. “Mom threatened to leave every day for two weeks, then suddenly she was planning the next community event,” laughs Patricia.

As much as you want to be. Many families visit daily, join meals, attend activities, and participate in care planning. We see family involvement as essential, not interference. You’re always welcome, and your input always matters.

We adapt with them. If someone in assisted living develops dementia, we can transition them to our memory care. If health needs increase, we adjust care plans. You won’t have to move them again as their needs evolve.

We limit increases to once per year, typically 3-5%, and we give 60 days’ notice. Unlike some communities, we don’t add surprise fees or change pricing structures mid-contract.

Our staff is trained in de-escalation techniques and person-centered care approaches. We look for triggers, adjust environments, and work with families to understand what works best for each individual.

Many of our families live hours away or out-of-state. Our family app keeps you connected daily, and we’re always available by phone. We can coordinate video calls and provide detailed updates for distant family members.

Accidents can happen anywhere, but our staff is trained in fall prevention and immediate response. We document everything thoroughly, contact families immediately, and work with medical professionals to prevent future incidents. Transparency is crucial during difficult moments.

We work closely with hospice providers and families to ensure comfort and dignity during this time. Many families choose to have their loved one remain in our community where they’re surrounded by familiar faces and caring staff who know them well.

Our staff is skilled at managing social dynamics and finding solutions that work for everyone. Sometimes it’s as simple as different seating arrangements or activity groups. We’ve never had a situation we couldn’t resolve with patience and creativity.

Absolutely. Many families take their loved ones out regularly for family dinners, holidays, or special occasions. We just ask that you let us know your plans so we can coordinate meals and medications accordingly.

This is why we’re so proud of our team stability—many of our caregivers have been with us over 10 years. When staff changes do occur, we ensure thorough transitions so residents’ care and relationships aren’t disrupted.

Our memory care community has secure, coded entrances, but we never use restraints. Instead, we focus on engagement, familiar routines, and redirection techniques. Our goal is to create an environment where residents feel comfortable and content, not confined.

We respect and accommodate different traditions, dietary requirements, and religious observances. Many of our residents continue attending their home churches, and we work with families to honor what’s important to their loved one.

Our staff is trained in respectful caregiving techniques, and we can accommodate preferences like same-gender caregivers when possible. Maintaining dignity isn’t just about physical privacy—it’s about treating each person with the respect they’ve earned through a lifetime of experiences.
